He is building this for the 2022 SAM Champs in Nevada.   He speaks of building this with a friend who has CNC cutting capabilities and his friend Johnny "Giovanni" Berlin and his Dirty Harry pistol.

Sono nel laboratorio di un mio amico. Ne costruiamo due. È stato progettato per la Texaco glow. La fusoliera è in 3 pezzi perché è lunga mt. 1,80.

È in 3 pezzi perché altrimenti non riesco a trasportarlo negli USA.  Il mio contenitore per modello è lungo mt. 1, 29 max.

La corda dell'ala sono 36 cm. E lsuperficie ala sono 90 decimetri quadri. Il motore è un MVVS 8. cc diesel.

Per il prossimo anno , mi piacerebbe che ai Samchamp ci venissi anche tu. E' una bella settimana. Nel 2019 c'era anche L'amico Berlin . Un gran ridere quando dalla sua auto tirò fuori una pistola che sembrava un cannone. . Mi voleva regalare 2 proiettili 45.  Gli ho detto se voleva farmi arrestare all'aeroporto.. 🤣🤣🤣

Anderson Pylon reconditioned

Following last week's first place finish in Ft. Wayne, it was decided that the Anderson could be completely covered over with Ultracote Lite.   Previously, we were continuously adding Thermalspan patches.  It was originally built by Canada's Chuck Schooley in the early nineties.

High temp here today in the 60's so I ran a MVVS 10 cc engine with the Davis diesel head. I do not think this engine was run before today. Tarno 1/2 A R/C carb and Aerodyne fuel. Uni-Flow fuel tank. First run the exhaust was brown. The rest of the runs were honey color. Much faster break in comparison to the old iron and steel diesels. Years ago, I asked Davis for a head for the MVVS 10 cc engine. He said loosen the head bolts and send him the engine which I did. It has sat in the box with the Davis head until today. I took the Tarno carb and Mike Salvador carb adapter from the MVVS I got from Bob Slater. The one from Bob Slater now has a MVVS .40-.45 R/C carb. Next time running diesels I will run Bob's engine with the .40-.45 carb. I have been told this will work as well as the Tarno for Texaco. Some folks have had problems with the Tarno carb.

Tom Boice has worked for a number of years with the old O.S. .60 open rocker four stroke glow engine converted to spark ignition for SAM Texaco events.  A number of mods to get 33 minute motor runs on 28 cc of fuel.  Special fuel tank as seen in photo.  Head shim to decrease compression for gasoline fuel.  Remote O.S. .20 four stroke glow engine carb used (see photo below).  Special fuel formula and probably other mods I am not aware of.  I can verify the 33 minute motor runs as Tom let me fly his 1600 sq. in. Bomber in Texaco last year at 3 SAM contests in the Mid-West.  Three contests and three 1st place in Texaco with Tom's big Bomber.

At the last of these three SAM contests at Fort Wayne, Indiana Chuck Hutton offered me his old O.S. .60 open rocker four stroke glow converted to spark for Texaco.  I accepted Chuck's offer and he mailed it to me after the contest.  I cleaned it up and sent it to Tom with two spark plugs and two ignition modules.  Spark plugs may not be the brand that Tom uses.  Tom said it looked new until he checked it out and could see it had been run a lot with carbon on exhaust valve.  Tom said it is a very good engine and he did his mods and gets 33 minutes with a 18/10 prop turning 2,500 RPM.  With that prop that is all the RPM you need for a regular size Bomber.

An O.S. .46FX with Davis Head and FXR Venturi System

Turns an APC 15x8 Electric prop at 4000 for 11mins on 24cc of fuel. Notice that carb has been replaced by a Venturi with an opening of .045.
