News flash! The Toledo contest is on. This is a chance to fly at one of the premiere flying sites in the Midwest. The date is August 5-6. We were worried about the covid 19 and if the Governor was going to allow gatherings of more than 10 people. All is well with the State of Michigan, and The Toledo Weak Signals site has plenty of room to practice "social distancing." This contest has a long history of being one of the Midwest's best attended and most competitive. The Toledo club is also promoting sailplane events. For more information on this you can contact Randy with the information on the attached flyer.

B size Bomber by Norm Poti 2

Playboy Sr. versus Cabin Playboy

Joe Elgin with Tom McCoy's Cabin Playboy

NB: The cabin version is a modification for only the Playboy Senior.  The Junior is an entirely different design (not merely a reduction).   There are slab sided versions and some with stringers on the top and sides like the Senior.   A few different wings exist but in all cases, the Junior has a wider fuselage than the Senior, a longer tail moment,  and all wing variants have a higher aspect ratio with inner panels that are longer than the tip panels.   Curiously, both John Pond and Joe Elgin preferred both the Junior and the Baby Playboy over the Senior when blown up to the original size of the Senior.

Notched Leading Edge

Here's a technique for building a notched trailing edge by Tandy Walker. In addition to the Cloudster, it could be adapted to the Taibi Hornet, and the Garami Molecule among others.

Friday fun at the RDR/C field

Good morning Tom. The video was fun to watch. By the way, I was at the field Fri. hot, hot. And, since I have been working from home since March, I did much building. Two new ones at the field. Keep well and fly safe.
